The Reserve Bank, vide press release dated September 23, 2025 on Voluntary surrender of Certificate of Registration (CoR) by NBFCs (including HFCs) for Cancellation, had announced about the availability of the application form and indicative checklist for voluntary surrender of CoR on the PRAVAAH portal. 2. Following the issuance of Reserve Bank of India (Non-Banking Financial Companies – Registration, Exemptions and Framework for Scale Based Regulation) Amendment Directions, 2026, dated April 29, 2026 regarding Unregistered Type I NBFCs, the application form and the indicative checklist have been revised. Applicant NBFCs (including HFCs) may submit the duly filled-in application form, along with the requisite documents complete in all respects as per the checklist, through the PRAVAAH portal. 3. It may be noted that mere submission of the application with supporting documents by an NBFC (including HFCs) should not be construed as cancellation of its CoR. NBFCs (including HFCs) should continue to comply with all applicable guidelines/instructions issued by the RBI/NHB/other competent authorities and submit requisite regulatory/supervisory returns, as applicable, until the CoR is cancelled and such decision is communicated by the Reserve Bank to the concerned entity.
